Show Reviews- March 2005

Catch Up on what you have missed

Sunday 6th March- the First Show!

After a month of waiting with the famous words 'So we're finally here then" the first ever Radio 1 Chart Show with JK and Joel began. Joel was understandably nervous and JK was nervous as well- a very unusual thing. They kicked off the show with Nelly feat. Tim Grawshaw "Over and Over again"- Last Weeks Number 1 and the first evr song played on the All New Chart Show.

Weekly Review

New Feature. For the first time on the Chart Show there was a Weekly Review. With the boys giving their view on Jordan's performance last night with her song "Smile on Me" at the "Eurovison Song Contest: UK ". Joel said:"..well she's still better than posh". But they were still many bum notes. JK said she looked like Dafyd from the Eurovision Song Contest whilst Joel compared her to her hubby Peter Andre. They also made everyone in the studio do a salute to Gina G and JK on Andy Scott-Lee? "Its the taking part that counts".  They expect Stereophonics to be this weeks Number 1 and Did you know that the Streophonics drummer is Brazilian? Well you do now. As JK said "Our Biggest Guest this Week" Killer Katy was on the phone in an interview but JK wasn't very pleased with her because she didn't phone him back because "she was really busy". JK got her back by saying he was an "Eastenders Fan". Next up on the agenda was the Rachael Stephens Intreview in TOTP Magazine. JK was pleased that she said that she fancies Kenzie from Blazin' Squad because he looks like him apparently. Joel hit back with saying that JK looked like Kenzie's Dad. Headmaster from Fame Academy Richird Parks was also "Under Fire" for swearing at Patrick Kielty. Don't forget to Vote Edith: 09011 21 44 06!!

In the week JK and Joel visited Liverpool and met Natasha Bedingfield. She talked about her love for playing at the Brits Awards, and her families talent for music. She also played "Marry, snog and push off a cliff!" with JK and Joel. She said that she'd Marry Moyles, Snog Joel and push JK off a cliff. Joel asked if she wanted to take part in "a JK and Joel sandwhich"- she said no, she'd push them both off a cliff. JK insisted that she liked him best when it cut back to the studio.

Up next was a look at the week. This week's must at the cinema was the new Will Smith Film: Hitch. In Nuts Magazine Will said that if you make a woman laugh it will make her knickers get looser. So there's hope for Joel yet. This weeks DVD is Bridget Jones, the chick flick of 2004 and the game is "Tiger Woods" and "Heman and Defender of the Universe". Joel thinks its amazing and its worth buying jsut to hear "I have the Power!!!!!!!".

During the Album Chart Countdown JK and Joel were on the phone to JLo. Joel said that JK was being a bit too foward to JLo by calling her "Jen". But JLo told Joel it was alright. JLo talked about her new album "Rebirth" which got to number 6 in the chart this week. She told the boys the new album was a new starting pint for her and she was feeling really upbeat about her life after a really bad year last year. Joel told her he really likes the Album Cover especially the one when she has her hat on: and nothing else! Joel's faviroute track from the album is "He will be back" whilst JK likes the rocky one on the album "Cherry Pie". JK also commented on the fact that her new perfum had made her girlfriend "Smell really nice".

Whilst they were counting down the chart the boys embaressed the Team behind them by telling everyone that their was a fault with the script. This weeks Album Chart was particuly bad as it was a Mothers Day orieneted chart with New entrys from Lional Richie and the M People. Joel asked if its wrong to number 1 was "G4:G4". JK hates it with a vengence and thenthey rung up Louie Walsch. Louie was very pleased with the result and JK teased him about falling out with everybody in the music buisness.

Retro

New Feature. Lets go retro now! We started off with clips from the David Beckham and Victoria Becham engagement and Tiffiny's Death in Eastenders. The first song played was Robbie Williams; "Let Me Entertain You". then more news reports from the resignation of Peter Mendelson and a clip from Madonna and "Frozen". More news reports about Titanic and the Spice Girls climb to success. Next song played in full was "Like That" by Run DMC. Then a clip of Cher "Do you believe in Love?". A clip of Pete Sampras winning something followed. Then a clip of the famous Bill Clinton clip saying he didn't have a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky. Next up was the last song "Route 45" . Finally we got a clip of "Ray of Light" from Madonna.  THIS YEAR WAS 1998. and the winner was Sylvie from the Orkneys after answering the question "Name a Type of Vegetable"- Danny with the high pitched voice because he fell out with Call Man Ben answed Carrot, he got it wrong because you are not meant to answer with the letter C. Doh! So Sylvie won the IPod signed by JLo.

The Top 40

The Top 40 can be seen on our Top 40  Page.
JK and Joel completly slated Rammstein's new entry "Das ist gud- ja?" and The Joker "It ain't Peter Andre is it?". Joel is a big fan of Byork and Shania Twain- "..but why is she married to that Ugly one..... Mut?". Much fun was also had by the Futureheads Intro "Oh..Oh..Oh". They than talked to Moyles who is on the Red Nose Rally 2005. Moyles was liking the show and said "its grrrreeeeeat!!" but he was very tired- and it was meant to be the Weekend. Get more info on the Red Nose Rally and Chris Moyles here. After Kaiser Chiefs (No.11) they again spoke to JLo. They talked about her new pepsi advert with David Beckham- apparently she makes really bad jokes. She blames the press for her "Diva" image and siad her faviroute thing in the world is curling up in her pajames watching Desperate Housewives with a bottle of wine. They also got out of her that she is a bad driver and she can't remember when she met Vernon Kay (he will be very disappointed). This week's Number 1 was Stereophonics with Dakota. The boys from Stereophonics were eccstatic and will get very drunk Tonight!!

The boys popped in after the show to play a game with Dave Pearce. The game revolved around them both battling it out to guess the dance tune. JK won (Well..he is a former DJ). Next Week's guest on the chart will be Matt Le Blanc

Having a look in the Chatroom this weeks major question was: What is the name of Hermans Cat before it became a tiger? Answers to fathomer90@hotmail.com
